
Maurice Burton was hospitalised after being hit by a car during a training ride on Sunday 30th March. Maurice was attended to at the scene by his riding companion who is a doctor, and was airlifted to hospital on La Palmas. He has since regained consciousness and X-rays revealed no broken bones. The prognosis is that Maurice should make a full recovery, though currently he is being kept under observation. If you would like to send a message to Maurice you can do the following.

Update :: 10th April 2008
Maurice is still in hospital in La Palmas. It was discovered that one of his vertebrae was fractured during the accident. He is being fitted with a back brace as an alternative to surgery. Until the brace is fitted he has to remain immobile.
Update :: 24th April 2008
Maurice is out of hospital but is remaining in Lanzarote as he is not fit to travel. He was able to meet the riders on the training camp and received a warm welcome
